STATE COLLEGE — Help raise money for the Fill a Glass with Hope campaign alongside the Pennsylvania Dairy Princess & Promotion Services Inc. in a 5-kilometer run or walk from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, at Wasson Farm Market.

Pennsylvania Dairy Princess & Promotion Services Inc. is a nonprofit that helps promote the nutritional value and benefits of consuming dairy products. The organization utilizes county promotional groups across 45 counties in Pennsylvania that are composed of local dairy farmers, agri-business personnel or dairy supporters who volunteer to organize events in the community.

Every spring, a dairy princess is selected for each county and represents the county for one year. Dairy princesses represent their county by speaking at events and hosting educational sessions on the importance of dairy and dairy farmers.

The Moovin’ For Milk 5K is hosted by one of Central Pennsylvania’s premier running clubs, the Nittany Running Club. All proceeds from the event will benefit Fill a Glass with Hope, which is a partnership between Feeding Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association, the American Dairy Association Northeast and member food banks that raise funds to make milk from local dairies accessible for families in need.

Various children and youth activities will occur during the event and awards will be given for the top three placings in each race category. It is $30 to register for the race, and $10 for children 12 and under.
